Secret Indulgence

~~drooooool~~
Weekends are always look forward to
Great food
Not that weekdays food is horrible
But its the usual kuey teow soup or yee mee soup
But on weekends, there is always random decisions that we make to go places to eat
Like this weekend
Went for Zang Toi's, 57th West Street in Pavilion for brunch on Saturday
And then on Sunday
Ampang Yong Tau Foo, Subang for brunch
And then Restaurant Sungai You, Palm Grove for dinner
*still drooling*
Only took pictures from 57th West Street because everyone would have known Ampang Yong Tau Foo
And I was too busy eating to even remember to capture pictures during dinner
Should have done that on that snail dish
Anyways...its sad too say
But then as a Hainanese
I have no idea of a lot of things that's Hainanese
I know Hainanese Chicken Chop cus' its one of grandpa's restaurant signature dish
I know of Hainanese Chicken Rice
Because that's the stereotype
But but, I have no idea of this one below

Hainanese Rock Buns
And it comes in several flavors
Raisin, Berry, Nuts
And this..no, this is not Hainanese
This is the must-try
Fruity Ice Tea Punch
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And as usual
Desserts are always a must
This time there's more than one!
This is Crepe Gateau with Ice-Cream
The vanilla flavored ice-cream is delicious
Not the usual too milky and powdery vanilla ice-cream
Lime Cake with ice-cream
Mum love the mint ice-cream though normally she's not a fan for minty stuff
And this
Looks like the chocolate banana cake that we had the previous time we were there
(And yes, I had another round of chocolate banana cake:)
But they called it the Chocolate Crepe Gateau
No idea why
But then again, name is not important
The taste is
Dark chocolate lovers would love this ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Weekends are over
Monday is here again
Definitely looking forward and secretly planning
Of what to eat this weekend
And ohh...apparently this month of Fridays are public holidays for us
Not sure though, gotta double check
If it is, then its a bonus
An extra day = extra place to try = extra food
Mmmm...*evil grin*
That's it!
Till then', chaoz!
p/s: Have great weekends everyone! :)
New Moon = dissapointment except for the fights and awesome abs!

Bollywood Craze

Humming melodies from songs out of Hindi films is one of the norms in my family. How can we not when both my parents spent most of their dates catching up with the latest release of Hindi films during their time. How can we not love the ever must-have scene; the running around a tree serenating one's love to one another when we ourselves have this one secret desire in us to be part of that scene. Shh,..lets keep between us, ehh? How can we fail to memorise the lyrics and melodies of the song when we have our own collection of Hindi lullaby, a gift of childhood from Dad. How can we not shed tears alongside with the actors in the film when everytime we watch a Hindi film, we felt as if we were on the set with them ;) From Dad's list of favourite choice of Haathi Mere Saathi, Love In Tokyo and An Evening In Paris to the latest addition of Devdas, Kabhie Khusie Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai..there's a long list going on here. And with the history of the origin of my name, how can we avoid the constant, all of sudden craze of Hindi films, right?
****************************************************

Dad's all time favourite; can only manage to find this few, can't find the one where I get my name from... :(

And the latest addition to the family's selection
This is one that still manage to make us cry despite the many times of watching it

"Pretty woman, deko deko na"
Another epic one
Costumes, songs and choreographies - AWESOME!
This is Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Not Kuchi Kuchi Hota Hai
OOooo..this is one that I didn't regret buying
Leading actress Deepika Padukone is beautiful
A little Aishwarya Rai look-alike but Aishwarya is still prettier
***************************************************
Like other movies
This is me personally; only certain actors attracts my attention to watch the film
And when it comes to Hindi films
Other than the storyline
I choose the film according to the actors too
Hindi films are REEEALL good with Amitabh Bachan (sorry if wrong spelling)
Know why?
Cus he can make you hate him to the fullest in his antagonist role
And love him to the max with his protagonist role
How can we forget the Bollywood King?
Movies that he stars in
It makes you laugh at one moment and cry at the other
Kabhie Kushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho
Man, you can really cry with him
Owh, and he looks real good with Kajol on set
How can you resist those eyes??

Beauty and talent together makes all of them
Good actress that can laugh at themselves while playing their roles
And still look as beautiful as ever
********************************************
That's it
Another random post of mine
Bollywood films are films that I luurrrvveee
No kidding
Psstt...the whole origin of my name that I mentioned above
Yeah, my name Sheena is from one of the Hindi film
Dad "fell in love" with the leading actress in that particular movie
Her name was Sheena
And so the name was given to me
*proud*
Aight, thats it!
Will post up on weekends pics soon!
Chaoz!~

Return of An Era; Vanity Fair Film Noir

Was browsing through pictures after the completion of both books of the Vampire Diaries by L.J.Smith. And saw this collection of pictures from Vanity Fair magazine.

Menace behind every shadow...fear in every dimly lit scene!
A portfolio by Annie Leibovitz and Michael Roberts with a whole long list of actors for the Vanity Fair Hollywood issue in 2007.
Found this whole lotsa pictures really, really nice.
Check out vanityfair.com for more photo shoots on other genre and themes. And also what this is all about.

Sugar Rush

Waiting anxiously for the day to arrive
Walking up and down
Mundar-mandir they call it
How can anyone not?
When weekends are AWESOME!!!
After a satisfy meal of claypot chicken rice at Damansara
With everyone's stomach so bloated
You may think that heading home was the best idea
Then again, like what Mel Sis use to say
There is always room for dessert
So we headed to SS2 to a place call
Tim Ban Kor Kor
Huh? You say...direct translation
Dessert Brother

Still...scroll down for desserts of the night :)

Sweet potato with glutinous rice balls with ginger soup
Curry Fishballs

My personal all-time favourite and also the craving of all time
MANGO PANCAKE!!!!
One of the way to melt my heart...MANGOES!!
Fresh fruit jelly
That Varic decide on out of so many other delicious looking ice-cream
Coconut Jelly
If you asked me
Taman Rahsna, Klang coconut jelly taste better
***********************************
